Valuables left inside vehicles continue to be stolen by burglars in Conejo Valley
As residents continue to leave valuables inside vehicles, thieves continue to steal them.
On Aug. 13 someone called the police about a suspicious vehicle parked on the 300 block of Wynn Court in Thousand Oaks. When they arrived to investigate, deputies found Jesse Israelson, 18, and a 17-year-old sleeping inside the vehicle.
Inside the car with them police reportedly found stolen property that included iPods, GPS devices, cellphones, digital cameras, jewelry, wallets, credit cards and pain medication.
Police investigators determined the items had been stolen from unlocked vehicles parked in Thousand Oaks, Oak Park and Agoura Hills. Police allege the teenagers entered at least 100 parked vehicles in the past few weeks.
Both were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. The juvenile was cited and released to a parent, while Israelson was booked at the East Valley Jail.
Police officials remind the public to remove valuables from unattended vehicles and lock the doors and windows.
