The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura will host a free presentation for people affected by cancer titled “Frankly Speaking About New Discoveries in Cancer” at 6 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 27 at The Wellness Community, 530 Hampshire Road, Westlake Village.

Shahryar Ashouri, M.D., will discuss new discoveries in cancer treatment, side-effect management and psychosocial aspects of the illness.

Ashouri specializes in hematology-oncology at the UCLA Hematology and Oncology clinic of Westlake Village. He received his medical degree from USC School of Medicine, where he did a fellowship in hematology-oncology.

Attendees will receive a free copy of the booklet “Frankly Speaking About New Discoveries in Cancer.”

Advanced registration is preferred, but walk-in attendees are welcome.
