Unitarians to present program on poverty
The Community Forum will host Karon Wright of the Greater Contribution as she presents "Helping Families Work Their Way Out of Poverty" at 7:30 p.m. Fri., July 17 at the Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3327 Old Conejo Road, Newbury Park.
Founded in 2006, the Greater Contribution is a nonprofit, allvolunteer organization founded by women seeking to make a greater contribution to the world by helping people suffering from hunger, poverty, disease, natural disasters and war.
The group raises funds for micro-loans that help poor women and their families work their way out of poverty.
Wright, a Thousand Oaks resident, earned national recognition as a "Vibrant Giver" for her dedication to poverty relief worldwide.
Admission is free, with donations going toward the Greater Contibution.
