Evolution theology to be discussed
Evolution evangelist the Rev. Michael Dowd will give a presentation at 7:30 p.m. Fri., June 12 at Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3327 Old Conejo Road, Newbury Park.
Dowd is the author of "Thank God for Evolution," a new book endorsed by five Nobel Prizewinning scientists and various religious leaders.
In the book, Dowd marries science and religion and presents evolution as theology, not theory.
According to event organizers, Dowd will discuss his "evolutionary epiphanies about the meaning of life and the current integrity crisis affecting the global economy and environment."
Dowd's wife, Connie Barlow, will speak at the fellowship's 9:15 and 11 a.m. services Sun., June 7.
In her presentation, "Celebrating Evolution," she will share how "artful presentations of humanity's evolutionary heritage can breathe new life into religious education."
Admission to all events is free.
