Thousand Oaks resident appointed director of Ventura County Animal Regulation Department

Monica Nolan has been appointed to the position of director of Animal Regulation, according to Marty Robinson, Ventura County executive officer.

Nolan joined the county in 1998 as part of the county executive office. Her primary responsibilities have been management of the county's Redevelopment Agency, capital project administration, revitalization activities within the Santa Clara Valley and budget analyst for the Department of Animal Regulation.

"Monica has considerable administrative/management experience at both the city and county level, a love of animals and a history of working with volunteer and communitybased organizations in accomplishing community goals" said Robinson.

Before 1998 Nolan worked at the city of Ventura for 17 years and held positions within both the city's Community Development and Community Services departments.

Nolan has years of experience in training both dogs and horses. She has a horsemanship certificate from the Potomac Horse Center in Maryland, a bachelor's degree from Radford University in Virginia and a master's degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign, Ill.

Nolan is a 29-year resident of Ventura County and lives in Thousand Oaks with her family and pets.
