Ventura County Writer's Club sponsors poetry contest

The Ventura County Writer's Club is sponsoring a poetry contest for local poets. The entry deadline is May 31.

The age categories are adults over 18 years old, and youths 18 years old and younger.

Prizes for adults are $100 first place, $75 second place and $50 third place.

Youth prizes are $50 first place, $35 second place and $25 third place.

No previously published poems may be entered.

All entries must be submitted with an official contest entry form. Poets may enter as many poems as they wish.

Adult entry fees are $4 per poem for club members and $5 for nonmembers.

Youth entry fees are $3 per poem.
