Documents can be shredded on Wednesday

To help the public guard against identity theft, residents may have personal documents shredded from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wed., April 29 at the Westlake Village office of Community West Bank, 951 Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

Two boxes of documents per household and business are permitted.

Shredding is secure and will be done on site by ShredRite trucks. Individuals may watch the shredding.

Citizens are encouraged to shred any documents they discard that contain personal information, including credit card receipts and preapproved credit applications. Identify thieves remove such documents from disposal bins and use the information, such as names, addresses, credit card numbers and Social Security numbers, to purchase items and set up false accounts.
