Stores that play by the rules deserve the city's approval

I've talked to my neighbors, and we agree that this whole Home Depot debate is just ridiculous. It's "simplistic" when you have socalled public officials turning what should be a cut and dried land-use issue into a political football.

The bottom line is that Home Depot followed all the rules and holds a lease on that property.

When people talk about traffic, what traffic? I drive down Hampshire Road and have never had a problem getting where I need to go, even when Kmart was there.

All of these "Chicken Little" stories are a waste of time.

The sky is not falling.

Why are we wasting time and resources when our planning commission already approved this?

Please, City Council members: Exhibit some leadership and make the right decision. Approve Home Depot.

It's time to move on. Shaun Hanrahan Thousand Oaks
