Unitarian church offers Taize services

The Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will offer modified Taize services at 7 p.m. Tues., March 17, 24 and 31 in the church sanctuary at 3327 Old Conejo Road, Newbury Park.

The contemplative gatherings will have readings from the gospels and also from the writings of poets and philosophers.

The services will include recordings of Taize music, which uses repetition of simple phrases mostly from Scripture, and periods of meditation and chanting.

The services are inspired by the Taize Community, an ecumenical Christian monastic order founded in Switzerland during World War II.
