Free cardiac bypass seminar coming to The Oaks

A free health seminar on offpump cardiac bypass surgery will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Thurs., Feb. 19 at The Oaks mall near Macy's Women's store on the lower level on Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks.

Enter the mall on the south side near Johnny Rocket's restaurant.

Morning refreshments will be served.

Clogged coronary arteries can often lead to by-pass surgery to fix the blockage. Traditional bypass surgery calls for stopping the heart while a machine takes over beating. With new technology, this surgery can be done while the heart is still beating.

Richard J. Declusin, MD, cardiothoracic surgeon on staff at Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center, will discusses why this new procedure has its advantages and could save lives.

This seminar is part of Health Chat, a free community health education outreach program sponsored twice a month by Los Robles Hospital in conjunction with The Oaks shopping center.

Reservations are not necessary, but appreciated by calling (805) 370-4092.
