Ex-councilman's letter lacks credibility

When will Dan Del Campo go away? We sat in the Conejo Sierra Club meeting when City Council candidate Dan Del Campo told us that he was an environmentalist.

He was either lying at the time or the siren song of developers and their minions got to him.

In either case, his recent letter to the T.O. Acorn supporting more development, this time in our supposed Ring of Open Space, isn't credible.

He asks the question, "Who made Mary Wiesbrock the czar of family enjoyment for open space?" Well, Mr. Del Campo, we have and will continue to support Mary and the Save Open Space organization as the only local effective voice in protecting our quality of life by preserving open space.

Look at the record. A popularity contest between Mary Wiesbrock and Dan Del Campo would leave him a distant second.

What nonsense to suggest scrapping Dos Vientos. The issue is why continue to destroy nature by constructing another urban park on the city fringes when we have enough existing or planned, without compromising Rancho Potrero? Burt and Betsy Elliott Thousand Oaks
