The Acorn's High School Football Game of the Week
Thousand Oaks Lancers (4-3) at Westlake Warriors (4-3) Friday, 7 p.m.
      Paul Miller may be the mayor of Simi Valley, but it's the Westlake High football team that has run the city the last two weeks. Nobody was happier to see the Warriors leave town than Royal and Simi Valley high schools, as Westlake won at Royal, 37-27, in Week 6 and at Simi Valley, 31-14, last week.

      Simi Valley (4-3) at Newbury Park (7-0) Outlook: The Panthers are really rolling now. Last week's 35-0 triumph over Calabasas was the high point for the team's defense thus far. The Panthers allowed only 111 yards of total offense to Calabasas (75 rushing, 36 passing) and forced two fumbles. If they keep playing like this, NPHS might never lose.

Boxers set to rumble at 'Warner Center War'
      Art of Boxing Promotions will present its inaugural show, billed as the "Warner Center War," at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills Fri., Nov. 2. The main event features top contender Juan "El Pollo" Valenzuela, who carries a record of 20-6 with nine knockouts.
