Neighborhood Yoga holds classes

Neighborhood Yoga is a studio near Westlake, Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park.

The maximum class size is four people. Studio owner and certified yoga instructor Tammy Finnerty says she has created a space where each student has the opportunity for personal instruction and adjustments.

Practicing in a smaller group setting is great for beginners because they are able to ask questions when they don't understand a pose, according to Finnerty.

At Neighborhood Yoga, the class moves together, learns from each other and progresses from there. It is a different experience from practicing in a large group setting, said Finnerty.

Neighborhood Yoga also offers something for more experienced yogi, said Finnerty, pointing out that fewer distractions allow the student to fall deeper into practice.
