Stage Door to present comedy to die for

2005-08-04 / On The Town

Stage Door Theatre will present the comedy “The Cemetery Club” through Sept. 11 at 28311 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills. Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, with 2 p.m. Sunday matinees offered on Aug. 14 and 28 and Sept. 11.

Written by Ivan Menchell and directed by Aileen-Marie Scott, “The Cemetery Club” revolves around three Jewish widows who meet once a month for tea before going to the cemetery to visit their respective husbands’ graves.

The women are Ida, sweettempered and ready to begin a new life; Lucille, the feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun; and Doris, priggish and judgmental—especially when Sam the Butcher is on the scene.

Tickets are $12 for Thursday, Friday and Sunday shows and $15 on Saturdays.

For information and/or reservations, call (818) 889-5209.

The theatre’s 2005-06 season will get underway on Fri., Sept. 30 with the opening of the Noel Coward comedy “Hay Fever.” For a copy of the 2005-06 season schedule, please call the theatre.
