Ventura County Fair to host Senior Day

The Ventura County Fair will host Senior Day on Tues., Aug. 9 at Seaside Park, Ventura. The event is sponsored by SCAN Health Plan, one of California’s largest Medicare advantage plans. Special events for Senior Day will include the annual Blessing of the Marriages and a 1 p.m. performance by country music legend Mel Tills, with comedians Williams and Ree. Other singers and bands will also perform that day. Gates will open at 10 a.m.

“We’re inviting seniors from throughout Ventura County to come out Aug. 9 and have a ball at this great event,” said SCAN Chief Executive Officer David Schmidt. “The Ventura County Fairgrounds is a beautiful setting and a lot of great events have been planned.”

This year’s fair will run from Wed., Aug. 3 through Sun., Aug. 14, and will feature carnival rides, entertainment and agricultural and competitive exhibits.
