Become a Big Brother or Sister

2005-08-04 / Community

To become a Big Brother/Big Sister, an adult must first pass a thorough background check and is then required to attend a threehour training class. After filling out a comprehensive interest form, the adult is matched with a child who shares similar hobbies and/or interests.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters are asked to commit three to four hours a week for at least one year to the child.

“The kids have had a lot of losses, and they need someone who’s steady and stable in their lives,” said Jan Sage, program director.’’
