The National Arbor Day Foundation has published a pocket guide for identifying trees called “What Tree Is That?”

The 84-page guide provides information on identifying 157 different trees found in the western U.S.

Well-known trees such as oaks, maples, firs and pines are included, as well as golden chinkapin, peachleaf willow, redbuds, redcedar, sycamore, saltcedar, sequoia and spruce.

“Helping people enjoy and appreciate trees is central to the educational mission of the Arbor Day Foundation,” said organization president John Rosenow.”
