Rotary Club appoints new officers, board members
The Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks has announced its officers and board of directors for 20052006.
Officers include Kathy Hill, president; Ken Warner, secretary; and Richard Wieler, treasurer.
Board members and their duties are: Jan Small, club service; Steve Stanley, community service; Denis Wilson, international service; Susan Murata, vocational service; Hillary Metcalf, youth service; and David Masci, member-at-large.
Also on the board are Peter Turpel, president-elect, and Doug Tapking, immediate past president.
Martin Anderson serves as executive secretary and Larry Baker is the executive treasurer for the 120-member club.
In the past club year, the Rotarians contributed a total of $99,000 to charities. Of these funds, $70,000 went to the Conejo Valley area, $19,000 to Rotary International for its international humanitarian efforts and $10,000 for scholarships to students in Thousand Oaks and surrounding communities.
The funds came from the club’s major fundraisers: the Chili Cookoff during Conejo Valley Days in April, the Wine and Art Festival in August and the Thousand Oaks Street Fair in October.
Each club member also pledged a minimum of $100 toward the charities.
