A month-long narcotics investigation ended with the arrests of Michael Stewart, 28, and his common-law girlfriend, Sandra Pacheco, 38, both of Thousand Oaks, for conspiracy to sell methamphetamine and felony child endangerment charges after they were observed conducting multiple narcotics transactions while a child was present.

The investigation began after investigators received several tips and other information that a subject identified as Stewart was selling methamphetamine throughout the county. Narcotics detectives allegedly observed Stewart making several methamphetamine transactions.

During one of the sales, Pacheco and a small child were present inside Stewart’s vehicle during a drug deal.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Stewart, his vehicles and apartment in Thousand Oaks.

On June 30, investigators followed Stewart from his home after obtaining information that he was about to conduct another methamphetamine sale. His vehicle was stopped. With the assistance of a drug-detecting dog, about one ounce of methamphetamine was found in the interior of Stewart’s vehicle.

Also discovered inside Stewart’s vehicle was a 17month-old child, who was later identified as Stewart’s daughter. Detectives found more than $2,400 on Stewart.

Investigators then searched Stewart’s apartment, but no additional drugs were found. Pacheco was home during the search and she was arrested for conspiracy to sell methamphetamine and felony child endangerment charges.

Bail for Stewart and Pacheco was set at $50,000 each.
