Neighborhood for Learning sponsors two summer camps
The Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning (NfL) is offering two special six-week summer camps, a program to prepare preschool children starting kindergarten and the Preschool Summer Peace Camp. Both camps will run Monday through Thursdays, beginning Tues., July 5 and will meet at the NfL preschools at Manzanita Elementary School in Newbury Park, and Conejo and Park Oaks elementary schools, Thousand Oaks.
The cost for each camp is $300, which includes registration and a nutritious daily snack. Parents are encouraged to sign up early, as space is limited.
The Summer Kindergarten Readiness Program is for children entering kindergarten in the fall and will meet from 12:15 to 3:15 p.m. The program helps children with language development, socialization, reading readiness and following rules and schedules. Priority will be given to children who have no previous preschool experience.
The Preschool Summer Peace Camp is for 3- to 5-year-olds and will meet from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. The camp focuses on friendship, communication, cooperation, respect, acceptance and peace.
Both camps will culminate on Thurs., Aug. 11 with a “Party in the Park” celebration at Parque de la Paz in Thousand Oaks.
